Twila M. Lee

Twila Madge Judy Lee, 89, of Romney, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital.  

Born November 16, 1927 at Dry Fork, she was the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Tina O. Delaney Judy.  

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 37 years: Henry R. Lee Sr., who died on April 18, 1983; 1 son: Robert M. Lee; 2 sisters: Wilma Judy and Josephine McBride; and 3 brothers: Robert, Kermit, and Glise Judy.

She retired from Hampshire Memorial Long Term Care Unit and Kidwell’s Nursing Home as a nursing assistant with 27 years of employment. She was also employed as a cook at the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, Romney Jr. High School, Carlton Restaurant, the New Century Hotel in Romney and Harrison’s Place in Burlington.  She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by 2 sons: Henry R. Lee Jr. and his wife Margie of Romney and Donald R. Lee of Slanesville; 2 daughters: Lana E. Weaver of Knoxville, Tenn. and Nancy R. Biggs and her husband Alan of Romney; 6 brothers: Calvin, Melvin, Donald, Jerry, Leon, and Richard Judy; 2 sisters: Jean Miller and Shirley Hott; 9 grandchildren: Tyra Lee, Stacy Giffin, Tammy Whisner, Robert Lee, Matthew Lee, Kelly Goddard, Maria Loggans, Joseph Lee, and Heather Lee; 3 step-grandchildren; Karen Malone, William Smith II, and Bambi Hammond; 10 great grandchildren: Alex Giffin, Taylor Lee, Ashley Goddard, Cheyenne Staples, Nathan Dotson, Elizabeth Lee, Donnie Johnson, Kara Whisner, Natalie Whisner, and Ethan Lee; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney. Interment will immediately follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Three Churches.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney.
