Eddy Kidwell of Points was recently appointed to the Hampshire County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
The decision was made at the board of directors monthly meeting held Jan. 5. The board of directors replaced the vacant position previously held by William Milleson on the board for the Springfield District. The board extended its thanks to Mr. Milleson for his dedicated years of service.
New member Eddy Kidwell lives in Points with his wife and enjoys spending time with his family. He has owned and operated Crooked Run Farm for many successful years. He is an active member of the community and serves on the Hampshire County Livestock Committee. The bureau extends a warm welcome to Kidwell for serving as one of the directors.
The Hampshire County Farm Bureau would also like to remind the community that it is collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald House is a comforting home away from home and a community of support for seriously ill children and their families.
The programs provide families with the comforts of home, including private bedrooms, inviting community spaces, home-cooked meals and a stocked kitchen, playroom, computer room and laundry facilities, as well as a network of support through interactions with other families, staff and volunteers.
The Farm Bureau collects pop tabs, soup tabs or other aluminum can tabs throughout the year and sends them to Ronald McDonald houses in the area. These tabs are collected and then recycled. The funds raised from the recycling goes toward expenses at the houses, especially at the Morgantown Ronald McDonald House, to pay the electric expenses.
If you have pop tabs available for pick up or are interested in joining the Hampshire County Farm Bureau, please contact Susan Parker at 304-813-1738 or like the group on Facebook. o
