4-Hers donate to sheriff’s toy drive

4-H members with the toys they donated

The Augusta Wide Awake 4-H Club has been busy. They held their November meeting Nov. 17, starting with pledges then roll call where members answered by saying how many years they had been in 4-H. Secretary’s report was read and accepted. Treasurer’s report was read with a new balance due to a bake sale held at an auction. Awards were given to those who were unable to attend the 4-H banquet.

Important dates coming up are teen leader weekend Feb. 12-14, dance weekend Feb. 26-28 and photo contest photos due in February to be displayed at the library.

December meeting was held Dec. 9. This was the club’s Christmas dinner. Every family provided a covered dish. All the food was extremely delicious. Members started the meeting with pledges and roll call. Secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were both read and accepted.

Then members prayed over the gathering and meal and ate and socialized. Then the club came back together for songs and games. Then Cloverbuds made tray favors for the nursing home with the help of the teen leaders. At the December meeting the members all gave to the sheriff’s toy drive for those in need in the community.

The club’s next meeting will be held Jan. 12. If you have a demonstration to do, don’t forget it. Hope everyone has a very safe and Happy New Year. How How.
