According to Hott, members of the committee will rate the top three candidates during the interview process — not as far as first, second and third preference, but as far as qualifications.
Board members will then conduct an interview of the three candidates that afternoon, Hott said.
“We won’t see the score cards from the first committee until after we have completed our interviews,” said Hott. “We don’t want anything to influence our decision.”
He said the board would then compare notes with the committee following the interview process.
“We may get six good applicants the first time around, and we may not get any,” said Hott. “So we are leaving the option open that we can readvertise for the position and start all over if we have to.”
