Janet R. Hose

Janet Rebecca Mayhew Hose of Romney died on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at the home of her dearly loved granddaughter, Serena B. McKee Beatty in Winchester, Va.  

Born in Romney on Feb. 6, 1933, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Mary E. Mayhew. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Blair W. Hose Sr.; and 2 children, Virginia R. Mahoney and Joseph R. Hose. 

Janet retired from the West VirginiaSchools for the Deaf and the Blind after 25 years. She loved reading, gardening, and cooking for her grandchildren. 

She is survived by their son, Blair W. Hose Jr. of Romney; a daughter, Linda S. McKee of Rockville Md.; a brother, James Mayhew of Romney; 2 sisters, Hilda F. Loy of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Evelyn Baker of Romney; 5 grandchildren, Serena B. McKee Beatty of Winchester ,Va., Eric Stickley of Romney, John Hose of Fort Ashby, Rebecca Lambert of Augusta and Mathew McKee of Fort Worth, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Her family is also deeply appreciative of the longtime companionship of Roy Rowzee of Points.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, 115 E. Birch Lane in Romney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Combs officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Luke’s Cemetery in Romney.  

All arrangements are being handled by the McKee Funeral Home of Romney.
