Viola M. Simmons, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017.

Born in Vanderlip on September 14, 1939, she was a daughter of Owen J. and Virginia D. Southerly Simmons.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Samuel E. Bollibon; a brother, Russell Southerly; and sisters, Betty Mae Mills, Buanna Savelle, and Anna Kline Davis.

She had been employed with Fayette Frozen Foods of Uniontown for many years. Her family lovingly knew her as “Aunt Mutt,” who loved to laugh and make others laugh.

Left to cherish her memory are many loving nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; her special niece and great niece, Nancy and Jasmine Attaway of Uniontown; and best friend, Pat Smith of East Millsboro, Pa. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. on 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext. in Uniontown, Pa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.

Private Entombment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Mausoleum.
