ROMNEY — Two people were life-flighted for treatment after a 2-vehicle wreck west of town Sunday evening.

The accident occurred at U.S. 50 and Fox’s Hollow Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office was not releasing the identities of those involved as of Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said one driver was entrapped, extricated by Romney firefighters. Two people, one male and one female, were flown for treatment.

AirCare 4 flew one patient to Winchester Medical Center and Healthnet 8 flew another to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Romney fire and rescue squads responded as did the county EMS services.
