FFA finishes big

Hampshire County FFA teams placed in the top 10 of their respective competitions at state career development events.

MORGANTOWN — Every year the Hampshire County FFA prepares multiple teams for the annual state career development events in Morgantown. Starting months in advance, the chapter trained 8 teams in various fields of agriculture, and on Monday, June 1, the 32 members and all 4 advisors left for competition. Each team did exceedingly well, and all teams placed inside the top 10 of their respective competitions.

Agricultural mechanics placed 4th overall with one member, Zach Davis, placing 9th individually. Additionally, the food science team also placed 4th with Shaylynn Bohrer placing 2nd place individually. Entomology also placed within the top 5, placing 3rd overall with Hannah Corbin placing 9th individually.

Finally, the chapter’s floriculture team placed 2nd overall with 3 members placing in the top 10, Mckenzie Charlton placing 7th, John Parker 6th and Taylor Bean 2nd.

To round out our chapter’s success at CDE the chapter’s combined scores also earned them 6th in the sweepstakes. A big congratulations goes to all teams, members and advisors for their hard work.
