CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A ceremony will be held in Charleston next week marking the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
The ceremony will be held outside the state Capitol at 2 p.m. Wednesday. It is free and open to the public.
The event will include speeches, a bell ringing and a reception.
The ceremony is sponsored by West Virginia State University and the state minority affairs office.
King led the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and delivered his signature speech from the Lincoln Memorial.
