JENNINGS RANDOLPH LAKE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Jennings Randolph Lake announces a variety of activities planned for the 2013 Labor Day weekend. Activities include interpretive programs, intake control tower tours and a Craft Day Program, all of which are free and open to the public.

The interpretive programs, which will cover water safety awareness and wildlife, will occur at the Robert W. Craig campground amphitheater on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1, beginning at 9 p.m. each day.

The Friends of Jennings Randolph Lake are sponsoring a Craft Day Program on Saturday, Aug. 31. The program will take place in the Robert W. Craig Campground Pavilion and begin 10 a.m.

Tours of the Jennings Randolph tower are scheduled from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. Tours will begin every 30 minutes, and interested parties are asked to meet at the West Virginia Overlook. Each tour is limited to no more than 20 people. Please note that photography and video of any kind (including cell photos) are not permitted.

Due to the sensitive flood risk management mission, all participants participating in the tour must sign in with the ranger and provide federal or state issued photo identification card. Adults with proper identification are able to sign for accompanying children (16 years old or younger). Additionally, cameras, cellphones, video equipment and bags of any kind (purses, backpacks, briefcases and so forth) are not permitted inside. Please make arrangements prior to signing up for the tour on-site, as exceptions will not be made.
