WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) — A Virginia woman has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for embezzling more than $1.3 million in horse racing funds from a West Virginia casino and racetrack that employed her.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Anita Ambler was sentenced Monday in Wheeling for stealing from Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort in Chester over several years.

Ambler had been convicted in April on 11 counts of mail fraud, 10 counts of wire fraud and four counts of transacting in criminal proceeds.

In addition to her prison sentence, Ambler also must pay back the money and forfeit her estate in Reva, Va., along with a vehicle she bought with the stolen funds.
