Former WVU star Tavon Austin has been busy visiting teams ahead of the NFL draft.
He was recently spotted at the headquarters of the Bengals, Browns and Ram’s.
The small statured speedster figures to be a mid-first round pick. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has him projected going to the Rams at No. 16 overall.
“I’ve been a little guy my whole life,” Austin said during the recent NFL combine. “I’m a little guy, but I play big.”
He looks to be a capable starter right away for a team in need of a slot receiver and also could be a dynamic kick returner, though teams fear injuries to those players.
“He’s a phenomenal player,” Kiper said. “He’s just tremendously electrifying, great quickness. I think Tavon is going to have a heck of a career.
“He is a touchdown maker, he is a scoreboard changer. You can get him the ball in terms of a running game, you can get him the ball on reverses, the wide receiver screens to get him in space, the return game. He’s dynamic.”
Austin will be one of the more anticipated draft picks.
