The Washington Redskins, presumably wanting a RGIII-like practice body while their star QB is recovering from knee surgery, signed Pat White on Wednesday.

White will join Kirk Cousins and Rex Grossman as the offseason QBs that will prep the Redskins for their 2013 season.

White was selected with the 44th pick of the 2009 draft and was released by the dolphins in 2010.

White recently played for the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers and also had brief stints playing baseball in the minor league.

White will be an asset for the Redskins running the pistol offense in practice and mimicking RGIII’s role. It remains to be seen if he will be with the team for the season, but the hope is he will bolster his resume enough to earn a look with other teams if not.
