Geno Smith has responded to a scathing Pro Football Weekly report about his work ethic and coachability.

Calling it “untrue of all things,” Smith defended has name and received support from his former QB coach at WVU.

Jake Spavital, now a coach at Texas A&M says Smith “can start in the NFL from day one.”

Smith visited the Kansas City Chiefs, who own the No. 1 overall pick in this month’s NFL draft, on Monday and Tuesday. He visited the Eagles, who own the No. 4 overall selection, on Wednesday.

All but three teams attended his pro day on March 14, when Smith completed 60 of 64 passes.

A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Smith is one of 19 players invited by the NFL to attend the draft, scheduled to be held April 25-27 in New York.
