ROMNEY – The West Virginia Division of Highways reports that primary roads in Hampshire County are 90 percent clear.

Ronnie Park is acting supervisor.

“The primary roads should be in good shape by noon. Right now some areas are slushy, but the temperature is rising and it is melting,” said Park.

Park said crews have plowed through the night and are working on the first secondary roads, which are the main county roads such as County Route 1.

“We are treating as necessary,” said Park.

Park said there are no road closures and no downed trees – “yet.”

He said more snow is expected today but no accumulation.

“We still recommend using caution when traveling,” said Park.
