3-24-13 WINTER STORM WARNING issued for area

A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for the Hampshire County area from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday.

Snow will develop late this afternoon into this evening and continue through Monday. Snow may be mixed
briefly with rain at the onset. The heaviest snow is expected overnight into Monday morning.

The area could see 6 to 8 inches above 1500 feet and 4 to 6 inches elsewhere.

Temperatures will drop from the middle 40s this afternoon to the upper 20s and lower 30s tonight and rise into the middle 30s on Monday.

Roads will become snow covered and slippery making travel difficult during this time. The worst conditions are expected late tonight through Monday morning. Heavy wet snow
accumulation on trees and power lines could cause scattered power outages.
