2-28-13 Two dead in Hardy County crash

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Two Moorefield area men were killed late Tuesday night when their automobile traveled out of control on Old Fields Road and overturned onto its top, according to West Virginia State Police.

Jordan Michael Miller, 24, and Brian Michael Wratchford, 26, were pronounced dead at the scene after their 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier crashed and overturned.

The accident was discovered shortly after 11 p.m. by two passersby who were traveling eastbound on Old Fields Road toward U.S. Route 220.

The passersby attempted to render aid to the victims and reported the crash to the Hardy County 911 center, according to media sources.

Tfc. C.S. Hartman reported the airbags of the car, being driven by Miller, deployed in the crash but neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.

The investigation is continuing and autopsies will be performed by the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office.
