WVU QB Geno Smith, and receivers Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey all had favorable showings at the NFL combine last weekend.
Smith, widely regarded as the top QB available in this year’s draft, ran a fast 40 yard dash time and accurately completed his throws. QB needy teams like Kansas City and Philadelphia will take a hard look and it is unlikely Smith falls out of the top 10.
Austin ran a blazing 40 yard dash and scored third overall in total rating. His speed and ability to make tough catches impressed many scouts. According to several sources he may rise into the late first round but will not last very long in the second if some team does not reach for him early.
Bailey, a quality playmaker himself, had a good workout and it’s likely he is taken somewhere in the third round.
Speculation will run rampant until the draft, but WVU continues to be represented will this year.
