2-25-13 Area under WINTER STORM WATCH for Tuesday

A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued by the National Weather Service for Hampshire County and the Potomac Highlands. The watch is in effect from late tonight through Tuesday afternoon for a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

Accumulations of up to a quarter inch of ice is possible.

Timing: beginning Tuesday morning… mixing with and changing to
rain by Tuesday evening.

Temperatures: lows Tuesday morning in the upper 20s to around
30. Temperatures will slowly rise into the mid 30s by Tuesday
evening.

Winds: southeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow… sleet… or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
