Erma M. Strawderman, 95, of Mathias, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at E.A. Hawse Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born March 24, 1917, in Lost City, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Annie See Shell. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Howard “Buck” Strawderman, on Feb. 12, 1987; two sisters, Lorna White, Merele Caldwell; and two brothers, Oakley A. See and Derald “Bud” Shell.
She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Ivanhoe Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Strawderman and wife Joyce, Gary Strawderman and wife Carol, all of Mathias; a daughter, Delores Mowery of Delray; two sisters, Neva Shover of Moundsville, and Edith McDonaldson of Crossville, Tenn.; three brothers, Elbert Shell of Baker, Ronald “Gene” Shell of Weyers Cave, Va., and Edward “Eddie” Shell of Shanks; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday Feb. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Baker.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with CLP Ken Brand and the Rev. Lee McDermott officiating.
Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Lost City.
