Laurence “Bob” Vincent Wehland, 89, of Laurel, Md., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

Born Sept. 5, 1923, in Laurel, Md., he was the son of the late Vincent Verner and Elizabeth Catherine Wehland. Also preceding him in death were his first wife, Jackquetta Glendolin Wehland, in 1975; his second wife, Kathleen Yoland Wehland, in 2011; one son, Robert Wayne Wehland; a daughter, Polly Ann Wehland; a grandson, William Wehland; and a great-granddaughter.

He was a World War II veteran with 24-months overseas duty in the European Theater. He worked in construction all his life, being superintendent for J.A. Scheibel Construction Co., Camp Springs, Md.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond William Wehland and David Lee Wehland and wife Mary; a daughter, Gloria Jean O’Donnell and husband Edward; a sister, Mabel Brown; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a lot of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fulton, Md., under the direction of Donaldson’s Funeral Home, Laurel.
