1-27-13 Area under a Winter Weather Advisory for Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Hampshire County and the surrounding areas. The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday morning.

* precipitation type: freezing rain.,possibly mixed with sleet
at the onset.

* Accumulations:  a few hundredths of an inch of ice from freezing
rain. Little or no sleet accumulation.

* Timing:  developing between 3 am and 5 am early Monday morning
and continuing through mid morning on Monday.

* Temperatures:  around 30.

* Winds:  south 5 to 10 mph.

Icing will produce slippery conditions on untreated
roads… bridges and sidewalks… particularly during the Monday
morning commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow… sleet… or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities… and use caution while
driving.
