ROMNEY – Primary roads in Hampshire County have been plowed and treated as of this morning.

“We have started on plowing the secondary and back roads this morning,” said supervisor Ronnie Park, West Virginia Division of Highways, Jersey Mountain Rd.

Park said some of the primary roads remain a bit slushy but are in pretty good shape.

The DOH has a crew manning 10 trucks and 2 graders working as of Thursday morning.

Park said things should be in good shape until Saturday.  “The weather service is calling for snow showers until 4 p.m. Saturday.”

Mike Ryan, spokesperson at the DOH in Burlington, said they have seen some drifting on the back roads due to the wind.

No roads have been closed and neither area experienced problems during the night while clearing the primary roads.
