ROMNEY – The water leak has been found. Residents of old and new Sunrise will have water within the next four hours.
“We found the leak on Sand Hill Road. It was leaking into the woods. We could smell chlorine and a stream of water was visible,” said James Hoffman, general manager of Central Hampshire Public Service District.
Hoffman said all the water flowing into homes affected by the leak has to be boiled until Monday.
CHPSD crews have been searching for the leak since it was discovered Nov. 9.
Hoffman tried to secure tanker trucks in the past few days to help customers, without success.
This morning, Hoffman said a 500-gallon tank, which was secured from Hampshire County EMS, would be parked on Summit Drive.
“That water has to be boiled as well,” said Hoffman.
