AUGUSTA — James Hoffman, general manager of Central Hampshire Public Service District, is asking the public to report any running water or standing water puddle in the area.

“We are losing 100,000 gallons of water a day, 50 to 70 gallons a minute and we can’t find the leak,” said Hoffman.

Hoffman said it could be going underground.

“We discovered it November 9 when our pumping went out. We measure every day,” said Hoffman,

Anyone who comes across running water or standing water that is normally not in a specific area is asked to call 304-496-8882.
