ROMNEY — Hampshire County voters have been heading to the polls in pretty good numbers since early morning.
Hampshire County Clerk Eric Strite said, around 12:30 p.m., “From what I hear the precincts seem to be pretty busy.”
Strite said there have been lines of voters intermittently at different precincts.
“I have been at the courthouse all morning fielding calls from people asking where to vote,” said Strite.
Secretary of State Natalie Tennant said the report she is getting from liaisons is that the turnout is solid throughout the state.
“Secretary Tennant said she expects about 60 percent turnout, which is about on the level of the 2008 presidential general election,” said Jake Glance, office of public affairs.
The 23 Hampshire County voting precincts close at 7:30 p.m.
