Anyone wanting to be in the Hampshire County Fair Parade on August 23, 2006, please call Bonnie Cox at 496-1070.

• The parade will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.
• The parade lineup will begin at 5:00-6:15 p.m. on Sol Shanholtz Rd., .04 mile in Augusta, WV. Any marching group will line up at the Augusta Branch of The Bank of Romney. The parade will go west on Rt. 50 to the fairgrounds.
• Please be aware: 1) Any entered Farm Tractors are limited to a driver ONLY - no other occupants will be allowed on the tractor. 2) Any 4-wheeler drivers in parade must be 18-years-old, possess a valid W.Va. driver’s license, wear a helmet and there may be no other riders on the 4-wheeler.
• There will be trophies given out at the fairground stage, after the parade and will be awarded as follows:

• Fire Co. Traveling The Most Distance - 1st Place; Best Appearing Fire Co. - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Rescue Squad Traveling Most Distance - 1st Place;
• Best Appearing Rescue Squad - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Best Appearing Civic Float - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Best Appearing Commercial Float - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Best Marching Unit - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Best Appearing High School Band - 1st Place;
• Best Appearing Jr. High School Band - 1st Place;
• Best Appearing Antique Car/Truck - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Most Original Person/Thing in Parade - 1st Place;
• Most Unusual Person/Thing in Parade - 1st Place;
• Best Appearing Commercial Truck/Tractor - 1st & 2nd Place;
• Best Appearing Woman Riding Horse - 1st Place;
• Best Appearing Man Riding Horse - 1st Place, (all horses must have a recent Coggins Test);
• Best Appearing Farm Tractor - 1st Place.
